Managerial Communication

Managerial Communication Training

Most frequent are personal work interactions in which communication with the external and internal clients of the company takes place. This means that we most often communicate with each other during personal meetings or discussions. The atmosphere and emotional content of these meetings has an impact upon the possibility for cooperation within the company. If these meetings have an inappropriate atmosphere, relations between colleagues will deteriorate, which may adversely affect both individual and company results.

The manager must be concerned with how he can achieve his interests during his interactions with his colleagues. He can have his way either by force or in a partner-like manner. However, the employee’s level of motivation will increase if the manager tries to convince the employee with common sense and not by making him feel that he, as a manager, is in a position of power. Of course, passive managerial behavior is not effective either. In fact, managerial and even organizational interests might suffer a loss as a result of it.

The method of assertiveness is a style of persuasion which takes the partner’s objectives and ideas into consideration to a great extent. During communication, it provides an opportunity for the partner to voice his objections and disclose his interests. It helps communication become effective and authentic. A partner-like, win-win relationship is established between the parties. Assertive communication is an indispensable means of establishing a healthy work environment and creating effective work, since it helps prevent conflict and dissolves stress.
